The Denham herds graze on the finest Suffolk pasture of rye, timothy, clover and herbs with supplementary feed of homegrown hay, apples, whole barley and beans. All feed is totally free of additives and hormones and any genetically modified substances and as it is produced on the estate is totally traceable.
Appetite and food intake in deer is self-adjusting to adapt to natural seasonal growth patterns but it is nevertheless essential that stock do not lose condition through shortage or protein deficiency and so there is always an ad lib supply of grass minerals and nutrients and supplementary feed of whole barley when necessary.
Special emphasis is placed on the selection of good female bloodlines to produce does with strong mothering qualities and good lactation in order to establish strong and healthy fawns
